miHoYo has announced a Nintendo Switch 2 version of its free-to-play life simulation game Petit Planet, with the console edition planned for 2027. The game will first launch for PC and mobile devices on Dec. 4, 2026.
Launch platforms and timing
The initial release will be available on PC through the Epic Games Store and miHoYo’s client, as well as on iOS through the App Store and Android through Google Play. The Nintendo Switch 2 edition will follow in 2027, extending the game to Nintendo’s current console platform.
miHoYo describes Petit Planet as a game about caring for and developing a personal world. Players take the role of Planet Tenders and travel to the Starsea aboard Oumuamua, a Starsea Spirit associated with the wishes of people. After reaching their destination, players plant a Luca Seed that grows into a Luca Arbor and influences the planet’s landscape, seasons and ecosystem.
Life on the planet
The game’s home planet will include characters who introduce players to the setting and its systems. Planet Coordinator Mobai and Starsea Racer Elsasani are the first Neighbors encountered, while additional residents are expected to arrive over time with their own stories. Players can build relationships with those characters through encounters and ongoing interactions.
Beyond the home planet, players can travel across the Starsea and visit its scattered Islets. The Galactic Bazaar will offer additional activities, including games, auctions and a place to share player-created content. The announcement also says players will be able to earn more than 1,000 clothing and furniture items through regular gameplay.
- Dec. 4, 2026: Petit Planet launches on PC, iOS and Android.
- 2027: The game is scheduled to come to Nintendo Switch 2.
- Platforms at initial launch: Epic Games Store, miHoYo’s PC client, App Store and Google Play.
miHoYo has also announced activities connected to the release. A website event beginning Nov. 1 lets participants design planets, while the first Petit Planet Seasonal Creation Event is scheduled to begin with the game’s launch. The event will recognize selected player creations with cash prizes, in-game rewards and official merchandise.
For players planning to start before the Nintendo Switch 2 version arrives, the developer has opened pre-registration activities on the official website. One event allows groups of three friends who pre-register to receive an exclusive clothing item for each participant. These activities accompany the PC and mobile launch rather than changing the announced 2027 timing for Nintendo’s console version.
