Nemiga and FURIA are set to meet in the grand final of PGL Masters Bucharest 2026, with Nemiga carrying an eight-map winning streak into the championship match.
FURIA reached the final after stopping BetBoom, which had eliminated Falcons in the semifinal of the Thunderpick World Championship. The Brazilian team is now pursuing its second tournament title in less than two weeks, according to Hotspawn.
Nemiga's run to the final
Nemiga's path through Bucharest changed after a difficult start in the Swiss Stage. The team opened with a win over Legacy but then lost consecutive 2-0 matches against BetBoom and Aurora. That left Nemiga at 1-2, one defeat from elimination.
Since then, Nemiga has won eight consecutive maps. The run included victories over DENDELE, The MongolZ, FUT and Vitality. The semifinal against Vitality also secured Nemiga a place at the next Major, adding a qualification milestone to the team's run in Bucharest.
- Nemiga began the Swiss Stage with a 1-2 record.
- The team has won eight consecutive maps since its second Swiss-stage loss.
- Nemiga defeated Vitality in the semifinal and secured a Major place.
Several Nemiga players produced the team's highest-rated performances during that recovery. Spirit Academy loanee syph0 recorded a 1.90 rating against The MongolZ and followed it with a team-high 1.23 rating against FUT. In the semifinal against Vitality, in-game leader robo posted a 1.52 rating, his best mark of the tournament.
That record gives Nemiga an unusual final matchup against FURIA. The team arrived in Bucharest with less experience against the tournament's top opposition, then defeated four opponents without dropping a map after reaching the elimination side of the bracket.
FURIA enters the final as the more established side in the matchup, while Nemiga will play for its first championship of the tournament. The grand final is the last match of PGL Masters Bucharest 2026 and will decide which team takes the title.
