Natus Vincere eliminated Team Spirit from PGL Masters Bucharest 2026 on Thursday, ending the tournament run of the team ranked No. 1 in the world by HLTV.org. The series was the final 2-2 decider of the Swiss stage and sent NAVI into the playoffs.
The match went the distance across three maps. NAVI controlled the opening game on Cache, Spirit answered on Dust2 and Natus Vincere closed the series on Anubis. The result was Spirit’s first loss to NAVI since February 2025, according to HLTV’s coverage cited by Esports Insider.
NAVI recover after 2-2 start
NAVI began the event with 2-0 victories over G2 Esports and FURIA. Their second map against G2 required three overtimes. The team then lost consecutive series to BetBoom and Vitality, dropping into the 2-2 pool and leaving its playoff qualification dependent on one deciding match.
Spirit followed a similar route to the elimination series. The team lost 1-2 to MOUZ on Tuesday, winning Nuke 13-2 before falling on Dust2 8-13 and Mirage 14-16. Spirit entered the match against NAVI as the top-ranked team but finished the Swiss stage at 2-3.
The last playoff places were also claimed by Nemiga and FURIA. Nemiga defeated The MongolZ 2-0, while FURIA beat Team Liquid 2-0 on the final day of group-stage play.
Quarterfinal bracket is set
NAVI’s quarterfinal opponent will be Vitality, which already defeated NAVI during the Swiss stage. Vitality will use Justinas “jL” Lekavicius as a stand-in. The organization announced in August that jL would fill that role at both BLAST Open Porto and PGL Masters Bucharest.
- Vitality vs. NAVI
- Nemiga vs. FUT

PGL Masters Bucharest is an offline S-Tier tournament classified as Valve Tier 1 with 16 teams. The event is also described by NAVI’s tournament page as the penultimate major tournament before PGL Major Singapore 2026.
The tournament’s published distribution gives each team eliminated in places nine through 11 $31,250. Teams that lose in the quarterfinals receive $50,000, with the winners’ share divided equally between the players and the organization.
