Replaced, the science-fiction adventure from Sad Cat Studios, received three honors at the Central & Eastern European Game Awards on Wednesday, including the event’s award for best game of the year in the region.
The game also won awards for best design and best plot. The awards are presented in Poznań, Poland, and have been held since 2018. Office Life reported the results, citing the Belarusian outlet Nasha Niva.
Three awards for Replaced
The recognition covered three separate categories:
- Best game of the year in Central and Eastern Europe
- Best design
- Best plot
Sad Cat Studios released Replaced on April 14 for PC and Xbox Series X|S. The game is also expected to come to mobile devices in early December, according to the announcement of its recent recognition.
Sad Cat Studios was founded in Minsk in 2018. The company now operates from Cyprus and Poland. The studio’s Belarusian roots were noted alongside the awards, while its current operations span two countries.
Studio background
Three years ago, Sad Cat Studios received $5 million to support the development of future games. The investment came from GEM Capital, an international company based in Cyprus.
Replaced is the studio’s latest publicly identified release. Its Central & Eastern European Game Awards result adds three regional distinctions to the game’s release history, with the mobile version expected to follow the PC and Xbox Series X|S launch later this year.
