Witchbrook will launch on Jan. 28, 2027, Chucklefish and Robotality announced Wednesday during Nintendo’s Indie World Showcase. The magic-themed life simulation game was previously planned for release in 2026.
The game is scheduled to arrive on Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox and PC on the same day. The announcement moves the project into next year after its release window had been set for the end of 2026.
A long-running project
Chucklefish first announced Witchbrook nearly a decade ago. The game is set in Mossport, a fantasy town where players attend a school of magic while building relationships and developing their character’s abilities.
A new trailer shown during the presentation provided a closer look at the activities available in Mossport. The footage includes school classes, skill upgrades and crop cultivation, connecting the game’s academic setting with life simulation systems.
- Players can attend classes in Mossport.
- Character skills can be upgraded during the game.
- Farming is part of the town’s daily activities.
- Co-op supports as many as four players.
The multiplayer feature allows groups of up to four people to play together. The announcement also places Witchbrook among a group of games scheduled for early 2027, including Fable and Persona 4 Revival.
Witchbrook was one of the games featured in Wednesday’s Indie World presentation. Nintendo’s showcase also included the reveal of City of None, a new game from the co-creators of Celeste. For Witchbrook, the next announced milestone is its simultaneous release across Nintendo platforms, PlayStation 5, Xbox and PC on Jan. 28.
