The Pokémon Company announced that Pokémon UNITE will end live service at 00:00 UTC on March 23, 2027 — which is 8:00 p.m. ET on March 22 — affecting both the Nintendo Switch and the iOS and Android versions of the free‑to‑start 5v5 MOBA.
what is changing now
The company said sales of Aeos Gems, the game’s premium currency, were suspended the day of the announcement. New Unite Club memberships and automatic renewals have also been halted. Current Unite Club members will retain benefits through the end of the membership period they already paid for, The Pokémon Company said.
- Shutdown date and time: March 23, 2027, 00:00 UTC (8:00 p.m. ET March 22)
- Aeos Gem sales: suspended as of the announcement
- New Unite Club signups and auto‑renewals: suspended as of the announcement
final events and library feature
The publisher plans an update on Nov. 12 that will add a special event offering items including Unite Licenses and Holowear drawn from the game’s history, and a library feature that will let players download and view certain records and in‑game content after service ends.
The Pokémon Company warned that using the library after March 23 requires completing a data download before the shutdown. It also said library data generally can’t be transferred between devices and that the company will not provide support for the feature once the service ends; players with issues must contact Support before the cutoff.
service lifetime and origins
Pokémon UNITE launched on Nintendo Switch on July 21, 2021, and arrived on iOS and Android in September 2021. Developed by TiMi Studio Group in cooperation with The Pokémon Company, the game will have been live for a little more than five and a half years when servers go offline.
After the shutdown, players will not be able to log in, participate in battles, or access the published online content guidelines that accompanied the game’s service, the company said.
What players should do: spend any remaining Aeos Gems and complete any required library downloads before March 23, 2027, to retain post‑shutdown access to downloadable records.
