Diablo II: Resurrected Ladder Season 16 begins Friday, Nov. 13, Blizzard said in its season announcement. The new season will follow the end of Ladder Season 15 and the rollout of patch 3.4, which includes changes to character conversions, the availability of certain items in Ladder play and several bug fixes.

Season 15 ends before the patch rollout

Ladder Season 15 ends Monday, Nov. 9, at 11 a.m. Pacific time, or 2 p.m. ET. Blizzard plans to begin deploying patch 3.4 that day, ahead of the Season 16 launch. The new Ladder season starts at 5 p.m. Pacific time, or 8 p.m. ET, on Nov. 13.

Blizzard’s regional schedule lists the launch for Nov. 14 at 1 a.m. GMT in Europe, 3 a.m. CET in Europe and 9 a.m. CST in Asia. The Korean launch time is listed as 10 a.m. KST on Nov. 14.

Four Ladder modes return

Season 16 will again offer four versions of Ladder play. The Pre-Expansion Ladder uses the original four acts, while the standard Ladder includes all five acts through the Lord of Destruction expansion. Both formats also have Hardcore variants, in which each character has only one life.

  • Pre-Expansion Ladder: Standard play across the original four acts.
  • Pre-Expansion Hardcore Ladder: One-life play across the original four acts.
  • Ladder: Standard play with five acts and Lord of Destruction content.
  • Hardcore Ladder: One-life play with five acts and Lord of Destruction content.

Character and stash changes

Blizzard said Season 16 will include character conversions to Reign of the Warlock. The patch notes also cover items whose Ladder Only status is changing, alongside the listed bug fixes. Blizzard described the season as another opportunity for players to level characters to 99 and compete on the Ladder leaderboard.

When Season 15 ends, its Ladder characters will move to their corresponding non-Ladder groups. Items stored in each character group’s Shared Stash will transfer into new Withdraw Only tabs marked with a checked Past box. Items left in Withdraw Only tabs from Ladder Season 14 will be removed when Season 16 concludes, giving players the duration of Season 16 to retrieve them.

Blizzard’s announcement identifies the season schedule and the main categories of changes for patch 3.4. The update will accompany the start of the new Ladder cycle on Nov. 13.
