Tribute Games announced details for the first expansion to MARVEL Cosmic Invasion, The Siege of Castle Doom, and said the DLC will launch on Nov. 10, 2026. The studio described a new run-based game mode called Castle Doom that tasks players with fighting through Victor von Doom’s fortress before a Siege Gauge fills and triggers an immediate failure.
how Castle Doom mode works
In Castle Doom mode, each successful encounter charges a device called the Stabilizer, a creation attributed to Reed Richards in the expansion’s description. Players collect Battery Cells and complete on-run challenges to earn temporary upgrades to defense, damage or tactics from a pool of 12 perks. Failing challenges applies debuffs that reduce a fighter’s effectiveness during the run.
- Runs permit players to permanently unlock new equipment and events in Reed’s Lab as they complete successful attempts.
- Modifiers can be unlocked to increase difficulty and rewards for future runs.
- Players choose routes through the castle that present different encounters, traps and rewards.
Tribute Games said the castle is defended by Doom Bots and returning bosses from the base game. The Siege Gauge increases as players progress; if it reaches maximum before the player reaches Victor von Doom, the run ends instantly.
new characters and rewards
The Siege of Castle Doom adds Susan Storm of the Fantastic Four and Doctor Doom as playable characters. Tribute Games also announced new unlockable color palettes for all playable heroes who defeat Doctor Doom in the expansion. The studio said the DLC includes original musical tracks composed for the expansion.
Tribute Games positioned Castle Doom as a distinct challenge from the base game that still ties into persistent progression, allowing players to carry certain unlocks forward between attempts.
The studio’s announcement gives a release date of Nov. 10, 2026, for The Siege of Castle Doom and lays out the key features players can expect on launch day.
