Call of Duty Warzone will shut down on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on Friday, Nov. 6, ending the battle royale game’s support on the two last-generation consoles.

The servers will remain active through Thursday, Nov. 5, which will be the final full day to play on either platform. On Friday, access on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will end as the wider Warzone service continues on other platforms.

Legacy-console support is being removed

Insider Gaming reported that the shutdown follows several restrictions introduced earlier in 2026. New downloads and reinstallations of Warzone on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One were halted in June. Digital store purchases on those platforms were then locked down later that month.

The console shutdown comes after Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile was taken offline in April 2026. The changes mark the end of access to the main Warzone experience on the two older consoles that supported the game when it launched in 2020.

  • Nov. 5: Final full day to play Warzone on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
  • Nov. 6: Warzone servers go offline on both consoles.
  • June 2026: New downloads and reinstallations were stopped, followed by restrictions on digital store purchases.

Shutdown arrives alongside a new season

The server shutdown is scheduled for the same day as the launch of Modern Warfare 4’s Season One update. The update provides the timing for the final day of Warzone access on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, while the broader Warzone service continues beyond the legacy-console cutoff.

Warzone debuted in 2020 as a free-to-play Call of Duty title available across multiple platforms. Its PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions allowed players using those consoles to access the game without moving to newer hardware. That support will end after more than six years, according to the timeline reported by Insider Gaming.

The decision also follows the game’s transition away from the older hardware in stages rather than through a single change. Downloads and reinstallations were removed first, followed by store purchasing restrictions, before the servers themselves are taken offline Friday. Players who use PlayStation 4 or Xbox One will no longer be able to play Warzone on those systems once the shutdown takes effect.
