Lenovo has launched the Bellator 27UZ, a 27-inch gaming monitor in China that combines a 4K display mode with a lower-resolution mode designed for higher refresh rates. The monitor is priced at CNY 2,199, or about $330, in the Chinese market.
Two resolution and refresh-rate modes
The monitor uses a Mini LED panel with a native resolution of 3,840 × 2,160. In that mode, it runs at 180Hz without overclocking and can reach 200Hz with overclocking. Lenovo also lists a Full HD mode at 1,920 × 1,080, where the refresh rate is 360Hz without overclocking and up to 400Hz with overclocking.
The Bellator 27UZ has 1,152 dimming zones and a listed peak brightness of 1,600 nits. Lenovo says the display covers 99% of the sRGB color space and 95% of DCI-P3. Those specifications apply to the monitor's Mini LED backlight and color reproduction capabilities as listed for the Chinese launch.
- 4K mode: 180Hz standard and 200Hz with overclocking
- 1080p mode: 360Hz standard and 400Hz with overclocking
- HDR hardware: 1,152 dimming zones and 1,600-nit peak brightness
The monitor supports FreeSync, G-Sync and Adaptive Sync. Lenovo lists the technologies as support for variable refresh operation, which is intended to reduce tearing and stuttering when the display's refresh rate changes during gameplay.
Ports and availability
Connectivity includes two HDMI 2.1 FRL ports, one DisplayPort 1.4 connection, one USB-B 3.2 Gen 1 port and two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports. The monitor also has USB-C with up to 65 watts of power delivery. That power output is below the level generally required to power performance-oriented gaming laptops, according to the product information reported by Notebookcheck.
Lenovo lists the Bellator 27UZ with an adjustable stand and the design shown for the China release. The monitor's launch price is limited to that market announcement, and Bellator-branded products have not typically received broad international releases. Lenovo has not announced a global release for this model.
