Battlefield 6 has removed locked Mass Effect N7 cosmetics that appeared in the game earlier this month, players and fan accounts reported Oct. 26.
What appeared and what was removed
Players had discovered a set of locked items inside Battlefield 6 that matched Mass Effect iconography: N7 stickers and patches, a spray, a weapon skin and a charm modeled on the Normandy. The items were spotted by creators and fans ahead of the annual N7 Day celebration on Nov. 7, suggesting they were intended as a timed crossover release.

On Oct. 26 the fan account Mass Effect News reported the locked cosmetics had been removed. The account wrote that the items were likely meant for an N7 Day release but are no longer present in the Battlefield 6 files.
Context in EA’s live-service strategy
The removal comes as Electronic Arts has been actively running franchise crossovers in Battlefield 6. The official Battlefield account recently promoted a Dead Space Convergence event that runs in Battlefield 6 and Battlefield REDSEC through Nov. 10, illustrating EA’s practice of bringing other properties into Battlefield’s seasonal content.
- The Mass Effect items were first noticed earlier this month as locked cosmetics in Battlefield 6.
- Players and fan accounts say the locked items were removed from the game files on Oct. 26.
- EA has been running other crossovers in Battlefield 6, including Dead Space, during the current season.
No official statement from Electronic Arts or the Battlefield account about the removal was available at the time the reporting was published. The changes were observed by multiple players and reported by fan channels that track in-game content.
The timing of the initial discovery — ahead of Nov. 7’s N7 Day, Mass Effect’s annual celebration — had led players to expect an N7-themed drop inside Battlefield 6 before the items were removed.
