League of Legends players can now get their hands on the highly coveted Dark Cosmic Erasure Jhin skin without having to spend a fortune. Initially, this skin was only obtainable by opening Cosmic 2023 Capsules, but popular streamer I Keep It Taco has discovered a bug that allows players to acquire it using regular Hextech Chests and Keys.
It’s important to note that the chances of obtaining the skin using this method are incredibly low. I Keep It Taco, a dedicated Jhin main, had to open over 600 chests and 50 orbs before finally obtaining the legendary skin. The drop rate for Dark Cosmic Erasure Jhin is an abysmal 0.0003 percent, making it a rarity even among seasoned players.
When asked about the bug, I Keep It Taco explained that Riot Games likely made a coding mistake, causing the skin to not appear in the Hextech Chest loot pool. However, there have been multiple documented cases of players receiving the skin through these chests, suggesting that the bug is real.
If you wish to try your luck, it’s recommended to open as many Hextech Chests as you have, especially if you’ve been saving them for a special occasion. However, the chances of obtaining Dark Cosmic Erasure Jhin through rerolls are almost nonexistent, so it’s best to focus on opening individual chests.
Alternatively, if you’re not interested in exploiting bugs, you can still acquire the skin by opening the limited-time Cosmic 2023 Capsules. These capsules will only be available until the upcoming Patch 13.19, which is scheduled to go live on September 27. After that, the event will come to a close, so time is running out.
