Good news for those disappointed with recent news of multiple Rift Rivals ceasing operations this year. The VCS will be joining LMS, LPL and LCK at the Asian Rift Rivals this year. This development further cements VCS as the emerging region that is in transition into a Major region.

LMS and VCS will be sending two teams each to form a group of four against LCK and LPL’s top four teams in the 2019 Spring Split.

The tournament format will be as it always was: Respective seeds face each other in the Group Stage to determine the Playoff seeding. The top region will lay in wait while the last two play in a BO5 relay format. A team may only play twice if Game 5 is enacted.

For the LMS/VCS team, Flash Wolves will be first seed, followed by Phong Vũ Buffalo, then MAD Team and EVOS Esports.

Rift Rivals will be held at Jangchung Gymnasium in Seoul for four days from July 4th to July 7th. The Group Stage will be held from 4pm on July 4th and 5th, and the Semifinals and Finals will be held from 5pm on the 6th and 7th respectively
This will be held concurrently with Rift Rivals Blue (NA vs EU).
